In theory, the analyte sensitivity increases on decreasing the column inner diameter; however, because of the very low sample volumes injected – 20-60 nL, nano liquid chromatography cannot be considered as an analytical method of high sensitivity.
There are several research studies that focused on the improvement of sensitivity by using techniques such as on-column focusing[1] and 2-D separation[2].

Sensitivities of our NanoLC or IntelligentLC depends on detector performance and some times on use, Selection and validation of good analytical method for given analysis for given sample
We at Analytical Technologies Limited , India,. produce two types of Liquid Chromatography Systems, namely NanoLC and Intelligent LC Systems. The Sensitivities of both NanoLC and that of IntelligentLC is almost the same. What makes them different is the times of elusion nanoLC is definitely faster. Nano LC Requires high pressure pump typically capable of handling 18000psi, and has less particle size Columns and micro flow cells to make it faster in eluting. But accordingly cost also goes up accordingly. For more info you are requested to contact us @ info@ais-india.com
The sample injection is not a problem for nano-HPLC, you could use a SPE column for sample injection, then transfer sample from SPE to Nano analytical column. For more information, please see our paper: Analytical Chemistry, Vol. 75, No. 14, July 15, 2003
I also think it is a good topic to discuss here on your blog. In my organic chemistry, there are many ways to separate enantiomers. But this topic is really an interesting one. It shows how diverse Chemistry is! I hope, you could able to discuss its principles, method, application and lastly, any news and articles that pertain to CC.
chiral chromatography? The only time I did enantiomer separation was when I worked at Merck. I remember we used polysaccharide based stationary phase and I hated it so much because nothing ever worked.
However, it is a very good topic! I think I am going to do a review of CC principles and methods, or maybe you have something else in mind?
Hi!
I am interested on chiral molecules and ways to separate them. Is it possible to discuss chiral chromatography? Thanks!
